It is with a sad heart that I am passing on the news That Dottie Tiare Pranzatelli has passed away.
Dottie lived a full life and influenced many with her love of Tahitian dance. She was the guiding force behind yhe Mele Kini Polynesian Dance Studio for almost 50 years.
Melekini Polynesian Dance Studio
Teaching dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, and New Zealand! The Melekini Polynesian Dance Studio has been in business since 1975.
There is a Hula Lite seminar in Alexandria, Va on May 17th. I always enjoyed these seminars but unfortunately cannot attend this year.
The Theater at Raritan Valley Community College
On Sunday March 23 “The Pa’akai We Bring” will have one showing at 2 pm.
Tickets are very reasonable.
If any of my former students or acquaintances are interested, I will be going.
Also, I lost ALL of my routines and instruments in the last flood. If anyone has copies or would lend their copies to me, I will be very thankful!
I am sorry to say we are no longer in business, not available for lessons or shows.
But I would still like to stay in touch so I am keeping the page open. @
We have received such sad news. A long time student of ours has passed away. I hope you are dancing in heaven Geri!
Mele Kalikimaka!
We had classes in the park Wednesday evening but unfortunately not on the basketball court where we usually go. All of the fields were filled with a soft ball game, soccer and little ones practicing for soft ball. So we used the field directly across from my house. It was very lumpy, lol. We just ran through older routines. This week we will work on a chant that we didn’t finish of when we ended last year. Hope to see you here.
Of course if it rains we will cancel.
Aloha! I am resuming free hula classes on Wednesday May 5 at Lincoln Park in Manville at 6:30 pm near the basketball court. Classes are for students, previous students , or those who have had some Polynesian dancing experience. We are going to get back into dancing after our hiatus by practicing steps and some haole hulas.
If you are coming to just socialize please bring a chair and wear a face mask! Of course if it rains I will cancel. If you have any questions you can message me on Facebook or email me at Melekini [email protected].
I am thinking of holding classes in Lincoln Pak again on Wednesday evenings around 6:30
Well, this time of year normally we would start to work on the last of our dances for the luau.
Not happening this year!
Hope to see whomever can make it at the playground near my house again when the weather gets nicer.
Happy Birthday Geri!
