First saddle for the new mustang. This is a prospect for Mustang Magic 2027. This is the fourth day of training, this guy is super willing and brave. He’s got the mind to go to Fort Worth in January so far. He even checked “the scary” corner of the arena out!

Springer and Stephanie came to ride their new horses today. Loretta the Fresian mare has a lot of forward energy and Hank the big blue gelding is quite the opposite!

Michelle rode her mustang mare Reverie for the first time since she’s been in training with me. They looked awesome together! Rev is learning so much in a short time here.

When starting a horse under saddle I don’t usually like to give them time off but sometimes it can help. I typically like to do 10 days in a row of work. This filly was having a hard time accepting the saddle after 3 days in a row. I had to work for two days at the vet clinic so there was no choice I couldn’t work her. The break did her good and she was much more accepting of the saddle today. I also used a cinch that was more like a roping cinch and wider in the middle. Sometimes the narrower cinches can be like a thin belt and pretty uncomfortable for a horse that might want to be a little cinchy. I changed saddle pads, pretty much the same one but a little softer and bendier; other one is getting stiff with all the years of use. I also didn’t bring the flag out for desensitizing or moving her feet today. She has a bit of anxiety around the flag and I noticed that anxiety they have for an object can transfer to other parts of the training session if that object is used.

Looking for an endurance prospect? Look no further! I have got the perfect mustang for you! JB is the most athletic sucker I’ve ever ran across and has stamina for days. He is a 5 year old from Stewart Creek, Wyoming standing around 14.2 hands and built right. He’s got a sweet personality and is great with other horses. He’s low man on the totem pole.
JB competed in the Mustang Challenge where he was fourth place overall. He won 8️⃣k in prize money. He was started for the western competition and can slide, spin, change leads, chase cows, rope, drag things, open gates, go over bridges, trail ride, and go through water. In the last few months he has competed in working equitation, dressage, hunter/jumper, and eventing cross country. He has won a lot at local schooling shows. He just competed in the Mustang Classic at the Kentucky Horse Park where he was sixth place overall and won the show jumping!
JB will need someone who can handle a little power house 🐴. He is located in Brighton, Colorado. Low 5 figures!

Smart Cookie is a 6 year old mare from Diamond Nevada HMA. Shes around 14.2 hands and stocky. She is the sweetest mare and so good to be around on the ground. Shes also amazing under saddle and a nice trusty partner for whatever you want to do with her. She was fourth place overall at the Mustang Challenge in Las Vegas. She is signed up for the Mustang Classic in Kentucky and I’m hoping someone would like to buy her and partner with me for the competition or they can get her immediately following the competition. Please PM for price and videos. Located in Brighton Colorado but will be in Lexington, Kentucky September 4-6th.

This last weekend, my husband Luke, played shouffer and showed his c**t Kid Rock! I’m so proud of him for stepping out of his comfort zone and showing horses with me. He won the Horsemanship pattern class and was second to me and Smart Cookie in the Ranch Riding. He was third overall in the open winning a nice headstall!
