Carson Carriere's Race Weekend Review 8/1/26:

"Yesterday we raced in Silver City's Club Race #7 sponsored by Ryan Preece Racing. Our cars were really fast, and I spent most of the day at the front of the pack.

In my Unrestricted Animal heat race, I was in second for most of the race and I most likely could've went for the lead but it would've been difficult since there were a lot of cautions and I had more of a long-run car rather than a short-run car.

Either way, my second place finish in the heat gave me a second place starting spot in the feature. That means I was starting on the front row. The restart was rough trying to get into the bottom lane but I was able to merge in and steal fifth place and work my way back up to second. From there, I ran in the top three for the entirety of the 40 lap feature until the final corner on the last lap where I was accidentally wrecked by my friend. I then got sent to the back of the pack and with one lap to go and I made some passes and got the car from last place up to sixth, but it was still a bit disappointing after having a top 3 car all weekend. It was also upsetting because the track was operating under the USAC rules, which implies that all cars involved in an incident should go to the back, whereas with the normal rules, I would have been given my spot back and finished in the top 3.

Reid had some trouble getting by a slower car in the heat race and ended up getting black flagged after spinning out twice and getting into a wreck with another driver at the back of the pack. He then started 9th in the feature and drove the car up to 6th after having some mechanical problems and coming into the pits. Reid definitely could've been up front if it weren't for his problems in the heat race. He also received his third place trophy from the makeup races a few weeks ago.

Overall we were really fast this weekend and I can't wait for the Meriden 300 next weekend. Hopefully, we will be up front again just like we've been these past few weeks.

Carson Carriere's Race Weekend Review - Points Race #5

This weekend we had a really great weekend at Silver City Quarter Midget Track. Reid and I both had really great cars, and great results from our races. This weekend was by far one of the best I have had in a while.

In my heat race, I started 2nd on the outside and battled a really fast but tight car for the 20 lap Hvy. Animal Heat race. Unfortunately, I lost a spot and ended up finishing 3rd to secure my spot in the feature.

Due to the inverted lineup, I ended up starting 1st in the feature. I lead the first few laps despite multiple restarts and a tough field of drivers behind me. A few laps later, my car lost grip and spun out. I went into the pits for an adjustment and it honestly made the car much worse. I managed to hold onto the car for another 10 to 15 laps and got the car up to 5th. Once again, the car lost grip of the track coming out of turn 4 and I spun out for a second time.

After a second trip to pit road, I quickly made my way back up to 7th. Unfortunately, a major wreck happened and my car was destroyed. I had a bent axle, two bent axle spindles, a left rear tire off of its bead, a broken chain, and multiple bent radius rods and other broken parts. Somehow I found myself back out on track after going into the pits for a third time. My car had a messed up setup and no steering capabilities whatsoever. But somehow, I drove it up to 4th place with only a few laps to go, and stayed there for the remainder of the race. Ultimately, I would say this was one of the most eventful races of my career and I want to say a special thank you to everyone who helped in the pits so I could get back out on track all three times.

Later that evening, I was surprised to be awarded the "Hot Shot" award from Johnny Morgillo. Each race, the "Hot Shot" award is given to a racer that consistently shows growth and stands out during that race day. I want to say a big thank you to Johnny Morgillo for presenting me with this award. It means a lot to me and it is very special being recognized for my improvement and growing success in this sport. I look forward to continuing my growth as a driver and becoming even more successful as the season goes on.
