Boston Beaneaters Vintage Baseball Club

We don’t post here much, especially this year. Vintage base ball has taken a back seat when compared to everything that has happened this year. However we learned of sad news. Our friend Paul Salomone passed away yesterday. Paul was the captain of the Elizabeth Resolutes. He was a fierce competitor and a pleasure to play against. He joined the Beaneaters several times over the years when we were down a player. He also drove up many hours multiple times from his home to umpire games for us in Boston. We are very sorry to hear of his passing, and we join in with the rest of the vintage base hall community in mourning his loss.

In a close contest yesterday with the Westfield Wheelmen, your Boston Beaneaters / NH Granite emerged victorious by a final tally of 5-4.

Next up is a trip to Maine this Saturday, August 3rd, where the Beaneaters will face Dirigo BBC at Old Orchard Beach Ballpark.

TIME CHANGE

This Sunday's game vs the Westfield Wheelmen at Fitton Field in Worcester has been rescheduled for a 10:00am start. The game will be followed by a Worcester Bravehearts vs Pittsfield Suns doubleheader.

Update: This Sunday's game against Hingham is being postponed due to expected temperatures of close to 100 degrees.

The Beaneaters will return to action on 7/28 at Fitton Field, home of the Worcester Bravehearts and the Holy Cross Crusaders! The game will start at 1:30 on the 28th. Hope to see some of you there!

Huzzah! In the first vintage base ball Boston Derby in almost a decade (since your Beaneaters beat the Boston Americans at Cassidy Park), the Boston Beaneaters NH Granite squad emerged victorious over Boston Union by a final tally of 24-12 on George's Island today. Stay tuned for round 2 of the Boston Derby this October, when the Beaneaters and Union face off in an 1886 style contest.

Looking for weekend plans? Come watch the Beaneaters and the Granite face our good friends Boston United Base Ball Club in an 1860s style double header! The game is this Saturday, July 13th, on George's Island. The games will start at 11am, so catch the 10am ferry from Boston Harbor to make sure you don't miss any of the action.
