I’ve been dancing for 15 years, I started at age 3. I plan to go to college for early childhood education. My favorite dance memories are the recitals. Dance has built my confidence and given me a purpose.

“Hi! My name is Lala, I have been dancing for 16 years! I am excited to say that I am committed to Bridgewater state in childcare! I plan on owning my own daycare! My favorite dance memory is definitely recital day. This day has been hectic but so much fun. Thank you to miss Ashely for being a great teacher these past 16 years! Thank you!“

Meet Breanna!

I started dance when I was 3 years old. My favourite memory is every year when we did the recital at Brockton High, I love seeing everyone slip and fall because we’re running back and forth to the dressing rooms. I remember doing it a few times myself and it’s a game of who’s going to fall first. My future plans are to study Aeronautical Science and fly planes down at Florida Tech in Melbourne. Dance has severely impacted my life by creating who I am and the people I have met. It gave me not only something to do but a place to belong and look forward to every year.

Are you ready for our 62nd annual recital happening THIS Sunday, May 31st at 12:00pm and 4:00pm? We sure are! Our students are excited to show off a full year of hard work and growth.

To all the dancers who’ve walked through our studio doors and noticed the teachers standing on those chairs… they have a story. 🖤 💛✨

This is my mom, Sherry Gold, performing her acrobatic nightclub act with a live orchestra back in the late 1950s.

Standing on those chairs, she would put on a blindfold and perform a no-handed backbend all the way down until she reached a champagne glass sitting on the floor. Then she would rise back up, remove the blindfold, and take a drink.

Of course I asked if it was real champagne, she said no but sometimes the musicians found it funny to fill it with the real thing.

Those chairs later found their way into our studio. Generations of dancers have walked by them, stood on them, posed on them, and probably wondered why they were there.

Now you know.

They are more than props. They are part of our history. A reminder of the woman who dreamed big, performed fearlessly, and built something that would grow far beyond herself.

Her story still lives in these walls. In every class. Every rehearsal. Every child who walks through those doors.

So next time you see those chairs… remember, you’re not just looking at furniture. You’re looking at a legacy. 💛
