Your warm-up isn’t dead time. It’s the FIRST REP of training 🔥
Before drilling or sparring, movement prep helps increase blood flow, prepare your nervous system, get your muscles switched on, and help your joints move more freely. That means better technique ex*****on: and a better chance of keeping your body healthy for the long haul 🥋
For BJJ, that might look like:
• Light sh*****ng and bridging
• Hip and shoulder circles
• Controlled neck mobility
• Technical movement at an easy pace
For MMA, add pummeling, shadow-boxing, footwork, and bodyweight movements to gradually raise your heart rate 👊🏽
The key is progression: start slow and controlled, then build toward sharper and more explosive movement. Don’t force a range of motion. Listen to your body, respect pain signals, and communicate with your coach when something doesn’t feel right.
Complete beginner? This matters for you.
Advanced competitor? This matters for you too.
Mobility and joint care aren’t just “extra.” They’re how you stay on the mats for years instead of weeks. Coach Eugene Crisler and the Cardinal team want every student training with purpose, confidence, and longevity in mind.
Show up. Warm up with intention. Then go to work 😎
