The Smith Delso Baseball Foundation and our Christmas Break Hitting Camp crew would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays.

After the past two days, we are just hoping Santa understands that all the baseballs that did not survive were casualties of hard work and holiday swings and not bad behavior. Here is to full cages, loud contact, and a great end to the year.

Thank you to our families and supporters for being part of the Smith Delso Baseball Foundation community.

Chris Baker Scholarship | smithdelso 04/14/2025

The Smith Delso Baseball Foundation is excited to announce the Chris Baker Memorial Leadership Scholarship. We have partnered with Jared Baker and his fiancée Kaitlyn Dawson to create this scholarship in honor of Jared's father. Chris was one of the foundation's founding donors and made it possible to carry out our mission.

The purpose of this scholarship is to minimize the financial burden associated with playing travel baseball by providing financial support to young athletes and their families. The scholarship will help cover all expenses associated with playing summer travel ball, including: team fees, uniforms, equipment, and travel costs.

Our hope is that this scholarship not only eases the financial burden for families, but also carries forward the values that Chris lived by—leadership, commitment, hard work, selflessness, and love for the game. Chris always made it a point to support Jared and all of his teammates, and we know he would be proud to see young athletes chasing their dreams.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation toward the scholarship, visit our website or contact Dylan Delso at 918-402-7444. Please feel free to share this post! It is our goal to support as many young players as we possibly can!

The Smith Delso Baseball Foundation is thrilled to announce our newest instructor, Parker Osborne. Parker is a Phoenix, Arizona native who has recently relocated to Broken Arrow to be closer to his family. Upon completion of a successful high school career, Parker played his freshman season at Central Arizona Community College and his sophomore season at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. After a great season at Chandler-Gilbert, Parker attended Southern Illinois University. Parker started for two seasons at SIU as the center piece to the Saluki’s line-up.
Immediately after his Senior season at SIU, Parker began his coaching career. Parker began as an assistant at Western Illinois University and ultimately wound up as an Assistant at the University of Texas in Arlington. During the summers, Parker coached in the West Coast league, the Prospect League, and the Northwoods League. During his 5 years as a Division 1 coach, 12 of Parker’s former players went on to being selected in the MLB draft.
As a result of his great reputation as a division 1 coach, Parker developed countless relationships with college coaches. This, combined with his insight into the dynamic of college recruitment, has allowed Parker to facilitate countless players with earning college scholarships.
SDBF is extremely excited to offer the opportunity for players to work with an established instructor such as Parker. Currently, Parker is offering hitting, catching, and pitching lessons out of our facility. If anyone is interested in booking a lesson with Parker you can reach out to him directly at 480-540-3181 or to Dylan Delso at 918-402-7444 for information.

SDBF would like to take a second and spotlight the winner of last falls weight gain challenge, Matt Williams. Last fall the foundation hosted a 10 week strength and conditioning program that held workouts every Monday and Thursday. Each participant was also eligible to compete in a weight gain challenge. Matt wound up winning by a landslide after gaining 30 pounds over the ten week period. As a reward for winning the challenge, Matt chose to get a custom pair of cleats from Stadium Kicks! We applaud Matt for his dedication and are extremely excited to see him reap the benefits the spring. Congratulations Matt!
