💙 Hi, I'm Kelsey! 💙
I thought it would be fun to reintroduce myself for those who are new here!
🌊 What brought me to teaching ISR?
Like many parents, I wanted my own children to be as safe as possible around water. I was an ISR parent for six years before becoming an instructor, and during that time I experienced firsthand just how life-changing these lessons are. As the years went on, I found myself wanting to bring those same lifesaving skills and peace of mind to more families in our community—and that's what ultimately led me to become an ISR Instructor. I truly believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn these lifesaving skills.
❤️ My favorite thing about teaching ISR?
Watching confidence replace fear. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child go from being unsure in the water to confidently using the skills that could one day save their life. The relationships I build with my families and getting to celebrate each milestone alongside them make this job incredibly special.
👨👩👧👦 A little about my family:
I've been married to my husband, Zach, for almost 10 years, and together we have two amazing kiddos, Ainsley and River. They are my biggest supporters and the reason I'm so passionate about water safety.
✨ A few of my favorite things:
• Jesus and my family ❤️
• Fitness and staying active 🏃♀️💪
• Traveling and planning our next adventure ✈️
I truly feel blessed that I get to do something I love while helping keep children safer around the water. Thank you to every family who has trusted me with your little ones—it means more than you'll ever know.
👇 I'd love to get to know how you found me, or how do we know each other? Let me know in the comments! 💙

This little dude was wearing the perfect swimsuit for this post- covered in the American 🇺🇸.
Be safe this holiday both in and around the water!
⭐️ Always stay within arms reach of your child when in the water and always be IN the water with your child
⭐️ Assign a “Water Watcher” in 15 minute increments if you are around the water regardless if swimming time is planned- they must stay off their phone during their “shift”
⭐️ Hire a lifeguard if you plan to have a party where a pool or other water is present
⭐️ Place tables, chairs, or any other furnishings a few feet away from your pool child safety fence. Curious children can climb onto these items and find their way over the fence
⭐️ Check the integrity of pool fence latches and door locks leading to the water- especially if traveling and staying in a rental
⭐️ Remove pool floats and toys from the pool when finished swimming to not entice a little one into the water
⭐️ Dress your child in a brightly colored swimsuit if around the water
⭐️ Drink lots of water and reapply sunscreen often
⭐️ Use only US Coast Guard approved life jackets when on open water
Have a SAFE holiday!

If you’re new to ISR or even just considering survival swim lessons for your child, this article is such a great read for parents.
Before I ever became an instructor, I was an ISR parent for 6 years between my two kids. I sat where you’re sitting — researching, wondering if it was the right fit, and wanting to make the safest choice possible for my family.
ISR ended up being one of the best decisions ever made. 🙌🏽
Now, as an instructor, I get to see firsthand how these skills truly change lives and give families peace of mind around water.
If you’re on the fence, curious, or just starting your research, this article is worth your time. 💛
