Nat Hughes is a native Oregonian who has fished all over the state and western US. He lives on the Southern Oregon Coast where he owns and operates Scream N Reelz Guide Service specializing in Salmon, Steelhead and Ocean Fisheries. He volunteers his time with Take A Veteran Fishing at Odell Lake and is a board member. Nat is also a
member of Oregon South Coast Fisherman club. Prior to becoming a professional guide, Nat served in the US Army as a Calvary Scout, including tour in Operation Iraqi Freedom 2004. He was also a sheriff's deputy. As a young man, Nat worked for Frank Amato of Salmon Trout Steelheader Magazine where he learned many of the fishing techniques he still uses today.

Well, Wi******er Bay will come to an end early this year. The non select coho season closes Saturday at 1159 pm. Guess that means I’m headed to the CHETCO RODEO a little earlier than anticipated. Bring on the chaos…..Gonna miss Wi******er Bay. One of my favorite places on the coast. Until next year. May the sun rise and set while the fish gods find favor on us.

What a great day. Had Dave & Chris with Fly Fishing Veterans on board today for some Salmon and Crab out of Wi******er Bay. Ocean was absolutely beautiful. Way better than predicted.

Pulled crab first thing. Then headed north a bit to find some fish. Dave & Chris were a blast. Good conversation, little bantering back and forth. Chris, an Army vet so we had something in common.

Chris was up first and landed a nice coho. Then Dave. Then a dry spell. So set out the secret weapon. Chris landed a 31” coho weighing in at nearly 14 pounds. pIG alert!!

Towards the end of the day, all 3 rods burried! Dave up! Wait, we all up. Complete chaois!!

Tagged out and headed back to port! See you guys in October for the show!
