We’re back! After a 9 month project that has forever transformed our golf course, all 18 holes will be open as of tomorrow, July 4th. This project as we have presented throughout its entirety, focused on functionality. Massive improvements have been made across the entire golf course focusing on drainage capabilities. While it has yet to rain for us to see how it all works, we are confident in the design. A special thanks to the entire team led by golf course architect Mark Mungeam Tim Gerrish, RLA, ASGCA , our Golf Course Superintendent Mike Murphy, and our construction team from J. Bates for a job well done. Mike Toohill and his team at Coneco environmental engineering led the way with engineering and permitting. While there are still areas that are actively growing in, more foot bridges to be built, and punch list items, the majority of the work is done and without question, our beloved Putterham is a very different golf course now. We would like to invite you to come and enjoy our improvements. Thank you for all of your support through this project and we look forward to you enjoying an improved golf course experience at Brookline. Have you enjoyed playing golf at Putterham? Have you felt connected to the golf course or the open space in a way that it feels like your home away from home? It’s with great excitement to share that you are not alone. Whether you currently call Putterham home, or you used to, we would like to introduce the Friends of Putterham. The Friends of Putterham is a group of golfers and non-golfers who share a special connection to our beloved property. They formed a group to which anyone can join them as friends and collectively ensure Putterham’s success now and for future generations to come. All contributions are tax deductable as FoP is a 501(c)3 organization. Please visit the link in our bio or go to friendsofputterham.org for more information!

Scenes from our inaugural Bloomin & Movin Event! We have been planning and trying to execute this event for four years and we finally were lucky this year with the weather. We enjoyed welcoming approximately 250 members of the community to the property. They enjoyed a wonderful crafting trail in Putterham Woods, archery lessons from our friends , bounce house fun with , delicious food , a fun story book trail through the golf course highlighting butterflies, and opportunity to have conversations with friend groups! Let the Golf season begin! While it’s been the coldest winter in memory, the course is starting to warm up. We’ll open on Monday, March 30th for walking only and limit all play to the back 9 only. Tee times can be made 4 days in advance. Our construction project is now confined to the front nine and we hope to open those holes towards early May. The changes on the front are dramatic and needs more time to finish, this was expected and planned. Our friends will also be opening next week on Wednesday, April 1st. Follow them for their hours of operation! We look forward to our best season yet! Welcome home.

The project continues to move forward. Here’s a sneak peak at one of the highlights of this week’s construction update. The removal of culverts ‘daylighting’ is absolutely a critical component of our plan. When the golf course opened in 1933, these were actually open creeks. Removing these culverts in essence is an aspect of restoration of this golden age design. When we do reopen, a greater emphasis by golfers choosing which tee to play will be critical. Stay tuned for more updates on construction and reopening information.
