He never hit me. So for years, I didn’t have a word for what was happening.

There was no bruise to point to.

Every one of those had a “good” version, and that’s the version everyone saw. It’s the version I told myself, too.

What I know now: abuse doesn’t have to leave a mark to rewire your nervous system. Your body keeps track of what your mind explains away.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. This month I’m telling the parts that don’t leave marks, because those are the parts that keep people stuck.

If you saw yourself in any of these slides, you can stop questioning yourself. What you lived was real, and you can heal from it.

National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233, or text START to 88788. Free, confidential, 24/7.

Share this post to the person who keeps saying “but he never hit me.”

What I offer:
I offer one-to-one coaching to help you trust yourself again and heal what your body is still holding. You never have to tell your story, because we work with your nervous system and your body. I keep sliding-scale spots open; message me “ready” to ask.

For leaders: I work with leaders and teams who want a workplace that is inclusive and sensitive to the things employees don’t say out loud. I’ll help you bring a trauma-informed lens to your culture. Message me “workplace” to start.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We don't often connect it to leadership and company culture, but we should.

Nearly 20 people per minute experience intimate-partner abuse in the U.S. Statistically, it's affecting someone on your team right now.

Too often, we put the work on the survivor: heal, adjust, show up like nothing happened. We've started asking a better question in other conversations. Instead of only teaching people how to avoid harm, we're asking how to stop it upstream. The workplace deserves the same shift. Instead of expecting survivors to fit back into our cultures, what if our cultures were built to hold them?

That’s what I help organizations do: team workshops, leadership trainings, and one-to-one coaching with a trauma-informed lens.

Every “overreaction” is actually a nervous system doing exactly what it learned to do a long time ago. The goal isn’t to shame it — it’s to Rewire it. 🧶

What survival behaviors come out when you are activated or triggered?

🪧You don’t need more healing. You need a reason to heal. A purpose to move beyond the pain.

So many of my clients get stuck in the Healing Era hamster wheel 🎡— another book, another modality, another round of “working on myself” — but they never actually get off the wheel. Because healing without a destination just becomes a new identity to hide in. 💥

The antidote isn’t more inner work. It’s joy, gratitude, and purpose, the things that pull you forward instead of just processing you in place.

🔹 Joy — what makes you feel alive right now, not “once you’re healed”
🔹 Gratitude — for the small things. For the things we would miss if we didn’t have them. For possibility.
🔹 Purpose — the reason underneath the healing: who do you want to show up for? What change do you want to bring into the world?

Healing isn’t the finish line, it’s the runway. Purpose is what gets you airborne. 🚀

What’s YOUR reason to get or be better? Who are you becoming this for and how do you want to contribute to the people around you?

Had the best time listening to this conscious conversation with and

Dr. Shefali’s earlier book, The Conscious Parent, changed my life and shifted something in me. I decided to do her training program in conscious parenting and life coaching, which helped me heal deeply and has been such a foundational framework for my coaching.

Swipe for photos from my graduation! 👩🏻‍🎓

Forever grateful for her message and teachings! 💫

Your Invisible CEO will always show you the worst case scenario first.

That’s not weakness — it’s wiring. Your nervous system’s job is to scan for threat before it scans for opportunity. So when you’re standing at the edge of a risk, the first voice you hear is protection, not possibility.

But protection isn’t the same as truth.

Here’s the question I ask myself before every big decision:

❔Is the best case scenario worth the risk of the worst case scenario?❔

If the answer is yes — that’s not recklessness. That’s your CEO Self making a calculated call instead of a fear-based retreat.

→ Invisible CEO asks: “What if it goes wrong?”
→ CEO Self asks: “What if it goes right — and is that worth the pain of the discomfort?”

One keeps you small. One lets you lead.

The risk isn’t the risk. Staying in the version of your life where you never asked the second question — that’s the real one.

Just because a practice involves the body doesn’t automatically make it somatic.

You can stretch.
You can breathe.
You can move.
You can hold a yoga pose.

But the somatic part is what happens when you bring your awareness inside the body.

✨ Tracking sensations is somatic.
✨ Noticing subtle shifts and changes is somatic.
✨ Using your senses to connect with your internal experience is somatic.
✨ Becoming curious about what your nervous system is communicating is somatic.
✨ Using breath, yoga, sound, or movement while staying connected to what you feel inside is somatic.

Somatics isn’t just about DOING something with the body. It’s about BEING WITH the body.

It’s about listening to the body. It’s about feeling the feelings. It’s about noticing what you notice.

Instead of asking, “Am I doing this right?”
Try asking: “What am I noticing right now?”

That simple shift—from doing the post or making the movement to experiencing yourself within it—is where deeper body awareness begins. 🤍

Comment “GUIDE” and I’ll send you my free Sensations Guide to help you understand somatics and your internal world.
