We’re thrilled to share that Shanna — a true pillar of our Kalā Yoga community — will now also be teaching at Kalā Yoga on Tuesday evenings starting tomorrow.
After becoming such an important part of our Williamsburg studio, we are beyond excited to welcome her energy, expertise, and presence to Bushwick. Join Shanna for her new weekly classes at 5:30 PM and 6:45 PM and experience the thoughtful, dynamic teaching she is so loved for.
An 800-hour Certified Jivamukti Yoga Teacher, Shanna is known for her safe and creative sequencing, accessible breakdown of challenging asanas, curated playlists, and the warmth and inclusivity she brings into every room. Her classes are designed to meet students where they are while helping them uncover strength, resilience, and grace.

Tree Pose, known in Sanskrit as Vrksasana, invites you to stand tall with steadiness and ease. Just like a tree, you ground down through one foot while the rest of the body grows upward, finding both stability and lightness.
This posture builds physical balance by strengthening the feet, ankles, and legs, while also improving focus and mental clarity. It teaches you how to stay centered even when things feel unsteady, both on and off the mat.
