This unspoken truth may ruffle some feathers:
My great-great-grandmother was a white Jewish woman who was exiled for choosing herself.
For choosing love, life, and freedom over religious expectation.
If she had submitted, I wouldn’t exist.
So understand this clearly-
I am not here by accident.
I am the result of a woman who refused to be controlled.
And her courage still runs through me.
I walk into rooms they never imagined for me, because she had the courage to walk away from everything.
I am her decision.
I am her defiance.
I am her legacy. ✨

Powerful women don’t shrink to lead.
They build.
They lead.
They create legacy.
And during Women’s History Month, I’m reminded that powerful women have always existed in many forms.
Women like Shirley Chisholm — who refused to wait for permission.
Women like Letitia James — who lead with courage and conviction.
Women like Madam C.J. Walker — who turned vision into empire.
And women like Coretta Scott King, Dr. Betty Shabazz, and Michelle Obama — powerful leaders who also understood the strength of partnership.
Because strength doesn’t only look like standing alone.
Sometimes it looks like building something greater together.
Yes, I lead.
Yes, I build.
Yes, I stand firmly in my purpose.
And I’m also proud to stand beside the man who helps build the infrastructure that supports our continued growth and impact.
Introducing NextPhase Infrastructure & Real Estate, led by my husband Codell Hall — focused on strategic infrastructure, facilities oversight, and real estate advisory.
Because the strongest legacies aren’t built by accident.
They’re built with vision, strategy… and partnership.

✨ What Does It Mean to Be Cool? ✨
During our World Read Aloud Day visit, Codell and I had the opportunity to speak with students about something deeper than style…
What being “cool” truly means.
Because confidence isn’t just how you look — it’s how you carry yourself, how you treat others, and the courage you show.
A message beautifully reflected in Codell’s Magic Shoes: The Suit of Dreams.

✨ What a Beautiful Experience ✨
Last week, my Husband, Codell, had the pleasure of celebrating World Read Aloud Day with the incredible 3rd-5th grade students gathered in the PS/IS 268.
This visit followed the official release of Codell’s Magic Shoes: The Suit of Dreams- a story centered on confidence, staying true to self-identity, and daring to dream and live boldly.
The energy, engagement, smiles, and autograph requests made this moment truly unforgettable.
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Marin for the warm welcome and for creating such a meaningful experience for the students.
