How to strengthen your conscious response mechanism:
1. Become aware of your perceived stress/threat.
2. Pause before reacting to assess how you feel.
3. Notice your immediate thoughts and emotions.
4. Note where you feel your emotions in your body.
5. Continue to breathe and stay with each sensation.
6. Release the need to fix, change, or control your experience.
7. Focus on observing your inner workings.
8. Name your emotions without identifying yourself with them ("This is frustration" vs. "I am frustrated").
9. Separate yourSELF from your emotions.
10. Remember that emotions have a beginning, middle, and end.
11. Get curious by exploring why you feel the way you do.
12. Investigate and dare to dig deep within yourself.
13. Learn from what you uncover.
14. Choose how you will move forward.
15. Repeat.
Every day, I strengthen my response mechanism to develop greater awareness of what I still need to work on. It is not easy, but nothing ever is when it comes to our personal growth and the development of our emotional intelligence.

Did you know that the November 19th partial lunar eclipse will last ~6 hours, and it will be the longest eclipse we've had in centuries? The last one like this was on February 18, 1440. 😳
This celestial event invites us to align with our values and find security within ourselves in times of perceived turmoil. Ta**us is a fixed earth sign which embodies all that grounds and supports us. Then there's the sun in Scorpio, a fixed water sign opposite Ta**us, which relates to how we merge and relate to all beings and set emotional boundaries for ourselves. The gist? We are being asked to protect what is ours while providing for those who matter to us the most. Ourselves included.

This week’s energy: Say yes to yourself and bring the full force of your being into all you do. 💙 📸:
Tears, muscle tension, and skin flushing may show up as physical signs of our emotions. Can you imagine how the long-term effects of unprocessed emotions may appear on our bodies when not properly released?
Think for a moment. What regions of your body are often in pain or discomfort? This is your body talking. Have you listened?👂🏽
Self-awareness, movement, and breathing practices support the completion of our emotional stress cycle, and luckily, we get to embody all three in our yoga practice. However, when tending to our mental health, remember it is not a one-size-fits-all endeavor. Lean into your resources and support system, and seek professional help when needed.
As a yoga teacher and graduate Social Work student, I want to offer you a space to explore what needs to be explored and unload what needs to be unloaded through movement, mindfulness, and breath.

This full Moon in Aries has shifted my focus from safeguarding to clearing—making room for more enriching experiences, letting go of self-limiting beliefs, and creating space for love in all its manifestations.

Self-transcendence manifests as our unique way of no longer remaining “the same”. Daring to grow and how we go about our evolutionary process (learning, unlearning, and eradicating old patterns) is the most singular part of who we are.
To my folks out there facing new beginnings and fresh starts—get rid of anything infused with fear and give yourself a clean slate.

Splitting into the last stretch of summer, eager to make the BEST out the remainder of Rooftop Yoga season, and excited for new beginnings!
