Had a great run this morning - no training - just a run with great conversation among friends! The thing is, we were faster than we all thought we could be!

This morning, I ran 18 miles by myself. I don't usually run by myself, because talking makes the time go by faster. Today, I used the 2.5 hours to think about a lot of things, and I really didn't mind the alone time. Also, when I'm by myself, it's all me and my resolve. I did an experiment today. I ran the whole 18 miles without checking my pace 1 single time. In the end, I found out I was pretty fast! It was a great run, by myself, but I did love crossing paths with three other beautiful runners in the park!
Ok, I lied, or unknowingly gave misinformation. I was 33rd out of over 700 people, not 2,000. Still pretty good, but a far cry from my first post. 2,000 people do all of the rides combined. Some are shorter and some are longer! Please forgive me!
This morning, we did a bicycle ride called the Tour du Doughnut! It was the perfect thing to do for Snook's birthday. Sometimes, I wonder why I sign up for these things. I've become a runner who rides about once a month, so I get left behind. I can't accelerate as fast as the guys. I have to admit that I was mad when I got left behind. But then I started working with other people, especially one great rider who took me under his wing and taught me how to pull through a pace line and work together to conserve energy. The guys placed 9-14 or 15 out of 2,000 riders. Little old me placed 33 out of 2,000. Not too bad for being "on my own!"
Had an excellent run this morning!! We ran faster than our training pace!! It really is the one time I don't talk! We had an exciting moment when a skunk raced us through the subdivision! It ran quite a distance at about a 7:30 pace! I was praying it wouldn't lift its tail! Maybe that helped us run faster!!
Had a great run this morning and I needed it. Sunday's run made me feel like I don't have what it takes. This morning's run was the opposite of miserable! And tonight I had a nice walk all by myself. I very rarely do anything by myself. Of course I spent half of my walk talking to Hunter on the phone! Technically I wasn't alone! 😊
Today's run was miserable. It was raining this morning, so I gladly slept in. However, I had to run 13 miles this weekend, so I ran at 2:00, just as the sun decided to peek out from the clouds a lot. I quit twice, but decided to keep going. I quit at 4 miles, and then again at 10. I finally really quit at 11.4 miles. I suffered a ton, though and had goosebumps (always a bad sign) most of the time. I know it made me tougher.
I think this morning must've been get out at 4:30am and do something day. We saw lots of people walking, a kid in jeans and t-shirt running??, and lots of traffic. I have to get new shoes. My "good" ones rub blisters on top of my feet, and my old ones hurt the bottoms of my feet.

Today we did a make-shift track workout that worked out perfectly! Our analytical time/distance tracker wasn't able to join us this morning, so we winged it. I've included a picture of my bloody shoe from a blister that's been rubbed on top of one of my toes.
I am on Cloud 9 because I was able to run 20 miles today without knee pain!! I think the fog this morning was a blessing. Once it burned off, it was so hot! The last two miles were tough! Who knew running 20 miles could feel so good?!
I've had two excellent, pain-free runs this week! They were both really tough, but it felt great to be able to make it!! I'm still on track to qualify for Boston! We ran through a little rain, but I think we may have beat a bigger storm!
I finally got to run, and it was hard!! After a week off, I felt out of shape! BUT it felt good, too. I absolutely hated resting!
