After a lot of thought, prayer, and more than a few difficult conversations, we have made the painstaking decision to sell out the bait shop portion of Hammonds Rack & Reel to another local business.
This was not an easy decision.
When we opened Hammonds Rack & Reel, we had high hopes for what it could become, and over the past year we have been incredibly grateful for every person who walked through our doors, bought bait, picked up fishing or hunting supplies, stopped in to visit, shared our posts, recommended us to a friend, or simply encouraged us along the way.
The support we have received from this community has been unmatched, and we will never forget it.
Sometimes in business, you have to make hard decisions about where your time, energy, and resources are best spent. As much as we have enjoyed serving our bait shop customers, we believe this is the right decision for our family and for the future of the building.
Going forward, much of our focus and effort will be directed toward The Coffee Cabin and Boutique. A tremendous amount of work is already happening behind the scenes, progress is being made every week, and we are extremely excited about what is coming.
This decision is not about slowing down — it is about making room to grow in a new direction.
We truly believe great things are coming to the entire building, and our goal is to continue turning it into a place where people want to stop, shop, grab something to eat or drink, visit with friends, and support several local businesses all under one roof.
We are also very thankful that the bait shop opportunity is going to another local business. Supporting local businesses has always mattered to us, and we hope our loyal customers will show them the same kind of support you have shown us.
This is certainly not goodbye. It is simply the beginning of a new chapter.
