Do It for Dominic D Dominic DePalma was a CO athlete who earned many soccer accolades in his too-short life. Dominic, 17, was killed by a drunk driver in July 2022.

This page aims to prevent more teen deaths, and also honor athletes who have grit via scholarship opps.

Meet Briana Ortega -- again!

Briana is the first and only applicant to earn this distinguished honor twice, impressing two different panels of judges, two years in a row.

Brianna is a freshman at North High School who plays goalkeeper for Albion SC Denver Soccer Club.

She lives by the quote, “Never the best, but I always try to do my best.”

Congratulations Briana! Drop a 📣 below to cheer on Briana.

Did you know teens who start drinking before the age of 15 are 6x more likely to develop alcoholism later in life than those who begin at 21? Now you do.

If you would like to help prevent substance abuse in teens, book Tami to speak at your school. Visit doitfordominicd.org to find out how.

Have you ever wondered why 21 is the minimum drinking age?

It’s based on research that shows that young people react differently to alcohol. They get drunk twice as fast as adults. It’s also hard for them to know when to stop.

Plus, it reduces alcohol related crashes involving teens. History proves that a lower drinking age made underage drinking worse too; states that had a lower minimum age saw over twice as many fatal traffic crashes as we do today.

Meet Sam Sharma. He’s a senior at Peak to Peak Charter School this year and plays fullback for Soccer Club . What we noticed about Sam is that he finds a way to get better and stronger from the struggles in his life. We couldn’t agree more with his favorite quote: “Don’t count the days, make the days count.” Congratulations, Sam! Drop a 💙 below if you agree too.

Homecoming is tonight. It’s a good time to talk with your teen about not driving under the influence.

Asking questions that begin with “how,” “what,” or “why” can help start a real conversation. These questions let teens think through their options and consider the pros and cons.

Rather than telling them what to do, try asking questions like these:
• How would you handle being invited to a party where there are
older students?
• What might you say in that situation?
• Why do you think it’s risky to drink alcohol, use cannabis, or take other substances?
These kinds of questions help teens think through situations on their own
build confidence, and develop the decision-making skills they need to handle real-life challenges safely.

Share this with a teen you want to keep safe tonight. And drop any tips you have for talking with teens below.
