Today our beloved school horse Wally was officially retired!

Sound and happy and ending his career with a sub-30 dressage score and a clear show jump round was a perfect way to go out!

To say he was a stalwart of our program would be an understatement!

Wally did it all and was tolerant and as saintly as any horse out there. I don’t know how many kids he helped along on their equestrian journey.

Thank you Tracy Scott for allowing him to retire under your guidance.

We will miss you but love that you have a soft landing and the best care and will love life going out on the trails.

What a busy couple weekends for GEC!
First off, we loved our time at Kentucky Horse Park Foundation’s Summer HT. The courses? Beautiful. The riders’ lounge? Top notch. The competitor party? A blast. The secretary (Heidi Jones)??? Working her absolute tail off! 🥰 Thank you to the whole team for a great competition. And to top it all off, we got to celebrate Anna’s 17th birthday with her first FOD at beginner novice! Woohooooo!

Then to World Equestrian Center Ohio for some jumper practice. From the .85cm to 1.20m, we all had an education and fun experience - especially Digger who was Reserve Champ! 😎 Upon hooking up the trailer, I called on the girls to put their new skills to the test. “Hey, remember two weeks ago when I taught you all how to change a trailer tire? Your turn! I’ll time you!” They got it switched out in 13.5 minutes. Way to go girls! Glad you listen to me most of the time! 🤣

Our social media team was slacking after our last week of summer camp and forgot to post our pictures!! (It’s me, McKenzie, I’m the social media team 😜)
We started the week off with an educational session with our vet Dr. James Redmon. Thank you for taking the time to teach our students about sport horse care!
We lucked out with some great weather, rode ponies inside and outside, and finished the week with a Showcase for the parents. What a great way to wrap up camp!

📣 What an amazing opportunity for our youth riders! Reese Koffler is hosting a FREE American Dressage Mentoring Clinic for youth riders ages 12–25. Open to riders and horses of all levels.

Another competition weekend in the books 😮‍💨
And this time, not only am I remember to post about it on the actual weekend, but everyone went home with ribbons!
Carlingford Wells and I finished 7th in the Open Training while his rider, Suzanna, is rehabbing. She was cheering us on all weekend and we hope to see her in the irons at the next event!
Lexington II and Grace finished 6th in the Training Rider.
Castle’s Boy and Alysha completed their Novice in 7th.
Adalee Ladwig’s Santiago and Anna finished 8th in the Beginner Novice Rider.
Ballyburn Blazer and Katelynn finished her FIRST novice in 5th!
And to top it all off, Kari Estes WON the Novice Rider 4 with her own Upland Seven Z 🥇🏆
Congratulations to all and thank you Midsouth Region Pony Clubs for a great event!

TheZelenskyyFactor had a wonderful school at Blackhorse Stables’ Mini Trial on Sunday! This young horse is coming along with great confidence. (And he’s for sale!)
Thank you Rachel Miles and the Blackhorse crew for putting on such a fun event!
And while I forgot any ribbon pictures, Alysha had a lovely couple rounds in the Novice CT, and special shoutout to Anna and Adalee Ladwig’s Santiago for winning the Beginner Novice Mini Trial. To think, this was only Anna’s second ever competition just last year - congratulations!
