Meet our Summer Intensive Teachers: Miss Ana Gonzalez. Ana Gonzalez is an educator, choreographer, and dancer born and raised in Brownsville, Texas. With over 20 years of dance experience, she has trained in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Flamenco, and Folklorico. Ana received her training at Allegro Ballet School under the direction of Maria Theresa Sanchez. During her nine-year competitive dance career, she earned a Teacher Certification with Dance Educators of America (DEA) and competed at the National Title Competition in 2019 and 2020.
Ana earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance with a minor in General Business from Sam Houston State University in 2024. She is currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Dance at Sam Houston State University, where she continues to deepen her artistic practice and pedagogical approach. Ana has studied under Rodolfo Moreno Marquez, Andrew Noble, Francisco Graciano, and Adele Nickel, and has performed works by choreographers Dionne Noble, Jennifer Mabus, and Jennifer Pontius.

Meet our Summer Intensive Teachers. Ms Layzabeth Gonzalez.

Layzabeth Gonzalez is a contemporary dance educator, artist, and arts advocate from Brownsville, Texas. She holds a BFA in Dance from Sam Houston State University, where she trained and performed works by artists including Andy and Dionne Noble, Elijah Alhadji Gibson, and Sidra Bell. During her time in school, she further expanded her training through the Gus Giordano College-Pro Intensive in Chicago and Ballet Hispánico’s ChoreoLab Training Intensive in New York City.
Professionally, Gonzalez has performed with Social Movement Contemporary Dance Company in Houston and Contretemps Contemporary Ballet in Chicago. She has also served as a teacher at Ballet Hispánico School of Dance in New York City and with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s Youth Education Programs, gaining experience in dance education within nationally recognized institutions.
She is currently the founder of Bailando Sin Fronteras, an initiative dedicated to expanding access to dance education, mentorship, and higher education pathways for students in the Rio Grande Valley. Through her work, Gonzalez focuses on supporting young artists as they navigate training opportunities, college pathways, and professional possibilities in the dance field.
