The Chesapeake Duck Club is the Gavlak family owned Waterfowl Hunting Club for more than 40 years. L We will continue to lease blinds.
119 acre Duck Hunting Club, Gavlak Family owned, for more then 40 years and is located in Los Banos, California We have 4 two man blinds we lease, also a cabin that sleeps 10 with full kitchen bathroom, dining area / living room..the cabin is a work in progress. The 2011-2012 hunting season we leased blinds for the first time and was very successful, everyone had a great hunting experience.

January has arrived, the ducks have finally made it to the grasslands, could use a little rain to carry the pond level through the end of the season.

The first trip to the club this year on 11-11-15 yielded only 2 greenwinged teal with 3 shots fired. But after holding water off until early November rains the club is full. And now on a maintenance flow. We seem to be in better shape than several of the clubs that took water in early October. Best of all the 4 month old pup acted as if the club was bird dogs wonderland!

Opening day at the Chesapeake duck club was good as usual the club average was 7.0 with a 2.0 on pintails 13 hunters shot 91 ducks. Opening Wednesday was successful with a 5.75 bird average between 4 hunters. Looking forward to some weather later this season. Happy hunting

Seasons:
Ducks and Geese: October 19, 2013 through January 26, 2014.
Scaup: November 2, 2013 through January 26, 2014
Brant Special Management Areas: Northern Brant, November 7, 2013 through December 6, 2013. Balance of State Brant, November 9, 2013 through December 6, 2013; 2 per day.
Special Youth Hunt Days: February 1 and 2, 2014.
Early Resident Canada Goose Season: September 28, 2013 through October 2, 2013 (Except in the North Coast Special Management Area)
Late White-front and White Goose Season: February 15, 2014 through February 19, 2014
Limits:
Ducks: Daily bag limit: 7. Which may contain 7 mallards of which only 2 can be female; 2 pintail; 2 canvasback; 2 redheads; 3 scaup.
Geese: Daily bag limit: 10. Which may include up to 10 white geese and up to 6 dark geese.
Early Resident Canada Goose Season: 10 Canada geese
Sacramento Valley Special Management Area: No more than 3 white fronts may be taken only from October 19, 2013 until December 20, 2013. For more information on the Sacramento Valley Special Management Area limits and boundaries, please refer to California State Waterfowl Regulations.
Possession Limit Ducks and Geese: Triple the daily bag limit.

One of my very first duck hunts at the club or ever for that matter. Thanks to this awesome place and great friends i am now a truely hoplessly addicted duck hunter. Great job Chesapeake !!
