Conference week, and two CSOG juniors put their names near the top of the board.

Ethan Chang took the individual title at the CSL North Varsity Boys Conference. He's a sophomore at Vernon Hills, and he played like someone who's been waiting for this one.

Max Handmaker, a junior at Deerfield, tied for 4th. No camera caught him on the day, so the leaderboard gets to do the talking.

Proud of both of you. It's a great way to start the postseason.

Ask a camper about their week - they won't tell you about drills or schedules.

They'll tell you about one putt. One drive. The hole number, the day of the week, the way the green sloped, and how it felt when it went right.

That's what matters at summer camp. Not a perfect swing by Friday, but a kid who walks off the course with a shot they'll still be talking about years from now, and the confidence that came with it.

Leo and Avett each found theirs this summer. We're still smiling about it.

We teach in all twelve. The calendar is the schedule.

Golf Foundational Skills, ages 5 to 8.
Grip, setup, and repeatable contact.

New Competitive Golfer, ages 9 to 12.
Short game and the first tournaments.

High School Competitive Development, ages 13 and up.
Course strategy alongside high school golf.

Group programs run through the fall and straight on; private lessons run every week, and the bays feature TrackMan and Foresight, plus a PuttView green.

The putting gets better indoors.

Not the range, not the course. A room with a green in it, a line on the floor showing you where the putt is supposed to start, and a number telling you how far you really are from the hole.

A whole summer in 30 seconds. The same walk out to the course every morning, bags nearly as tall as the kids carrying them, and by Friday nobody needed telling where to go.

Groups started age-based and got shuffled by skill midweek, so most of them finished the week somewhere they never expected to be.

Thank you to every family who handed us a week of their summer.

We'll see these kids again soon; next year's camp dates go up as soon as they're set.

Turns out a rainy day is just golf with a roof.

Summer camps are ending. The swings don't have to.

Chicago and Buffalo Grove run year-round - simulator rentals, junior programs, private and semi-private lessons.
