Coach Devlin: "It started as a private open-mat practice throughout the pandemic. Over time, word spread and interest grew. It took on a life of its own & grew organically. I knew I wanted to give back to the wrestling community that had given so much to me."

𝘕𝘠𝘞𝘕: 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣, 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥?
Coach Devlin: "We're working to build an established, high-level, centralized youth & high school wrestling club that provides athletes with the coaching, training, & resources they need to pursue their goals at the state & national level."

𝘕𝘠𝘞𝘕: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣 𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭?
Coach Devlin: "The relationships we build with our athletes & their families. With the addition of our youth program, we now have the opportunity to work with wrestlers throughout their entire youth & high school careers, building lasting relationships & supporting their development every step of the way. Also, having access to the University of Buffalo's wrestling room & facilities is another incredible resource. It allows the athletes to train in a Division 1 environment."

𝘕𝘠𝘞𝘕: 𝘉𝘦𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘴?
Coach Devlin: "Wrestling reaches far beyond the sport. We hope the lessons our athletes learn through the club help shape them into dependable, accountable, and respectful people. The same people who become great employees, friends, leaders, and contributing members to society. The world needs more of those kinds of people in it."

𝘕𝘠𝘞𝘕: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣?
Coach Devlin: "I would have to say finding a large enough training space. We quickly outgrew our original private facility, and thanks to James and Frank Cunningham, we were able to make a Buffalo gymnasium our home for a period of time. When Donnie Vinson was hired as the Head Wrestling Coach at UB, it opened the door for our next chapter."

𝘕𝘠𝘞𝘕: 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘶𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘣?
Coach Hart: "For me, one of the most rewarding parts is watching our athletes develop and seeing their progression from one year to the next. I also really value the relationships and connections we build through the sport, especially as we travel to train and compete in different places."

Which club wants to be covered & featured for Vol. 2 (& many more to come)? We're seeking only the high school wrestling clubs throughout NYS that "make a difference."

-2026 NYSPHSAA State Qualifying 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏 sibling duo---𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒌 (2026 CHSAA State Champion) & 𝑱𝒐𝒏 (2x NYSPHSAA Placer/DI 5th last season)

-2026 Fargo Junior FS All-American, 𝑱𝒂𝒙𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒐𝒄𝒄𝒐

-2x NYSPHSAA DI State placer/2025 Runner-up, 𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒏𝒆

-2024 NYSPHSAA DI 6th, 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒅𝒆𝒏 𝑲𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒐𝒏-𝑵𝒆𝒈𝒍𝒊𝒂

Probably the one program in all of the Empire that was least in need of another premier lightweight would be the 2x Defending Large School State Team champion Red Raiders of St. Francis HS!

But yet, as the cliche goes; on Monday night, the "rich got even richer" when it was announced that NY-USAW #39 overall rising freshman prospect, 𝙍𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙕𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙤, will be matriculating on the Hamburg, NY based campus this fall!!!

A 30-match winner as an 8th grader at Wilson in 2025-2026; Zarbo would finish 4th among the 110-pound field at the Section VI Championships!!

However, it has been the prolonged consistency demonstrated by the KD6 Wrestling protege at the NYWAY State Youth Championships that has especially left an impression!!

A top-3 performer every year from 2018-2024, including a three-peat from '18-'21 (not held in 2020 due to Covid), and runner-up status in '22 and '24; Zarbo skipped the event in 2025, but then made a triumphant reappearance in 2026 when he claimed his fourth career crown!!

To Boot, he has also been a 2020 NY-USAW titlist!

While the expectation/pattern suggests that there will be other newcomers that will be revealed at a later date; Zarbo is now the second high-profile addition to the ongoing STF dynasty!

In Mid-April, 2x Sectional placer/2026 Runner-up, 𝒁𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑮𝒊𝒃𝒔𝒐𝒏, revealed he'd be departing Williamsville-North/East to complete his final scholastic campaigns under the guidance of the 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳/𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐭/𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐤𝐢/𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐥𝐢𝐧/𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐞 brain trust!
