This past Friday, GObike Education Team was proud to bring a Bike Rodeo to Orchard Park. Thank you Orchard Park Police Department and other collaborators for bringing this event together. Teaching people, no matter the age, safe road practices sets up every road user for a smoother and safer ride to their destination.

This past Friday’s bike drive with the East Aurora Rotary Club! We collected more than 100 bikes in 3 hours and taught 6 people how to fix their bikes… great way to end the month!!! Bikes that were donated will be worked on by GObike staff and volunteers to go back out to the community!!

So it’s not a race? No. It’s a relay. No… it’s just a party really! Teams are encouraged! We’ll have a pit area just outside of the inner circle party zone where you can safely dismount your bike and tag your other teammates back in – some teammates can be riding/skating while other teammates enjoy the DJ, food and drinks inside the circle.
Choose your pace. No one is actually counting all your laps. Hop-on, hop-off, party. EASY.

Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy erased the data that shows bike lanes reduce crashes and don’t cause congestion. Then he asked Congress to defund all bike lanes — and even remove bike lanes from busy roads.

Now, Congress may be listening: the Senate is considering adding language to the transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict what kinds of roads could have bike lanes on them at all.

We need everyone in Congress to hear us clearly: bike lanes save lives, and bicyclists have a right to ride on the roads and get home safely.

Tell your all of your elected representatives: vote NO on any transportation reauthorization bill that would restrict the ability of federal funding to be used on bike safety projects.
