PRE-REG AT OUR WEBSITE! We’ll ride bikes around the city to various grocery stores. Because you must also participate in the fun and games at check points, you or your team can choose the route you think is most efficient and compete to return back to the start first!

Cranksgiving’s priorities are:

1: Safety. Ride in accordance with NYS Traffic Law. Including especially riding on the right, in the road, with traffic.

2: Fun: Participants have the best time when they’re remembering this is for a great cause. You’re supporting our local economy when you buy groceries, and you’re supporting your neighbors when you feed them with what you’ve received.

3: Funny: We highly encourage you to come up with a ridiculous team name, and wear ridiculous team costumes. And win a prize for it!

A tremendous win for child safety in West Seneca!
Thank you to Assemblymember Pat Burke for convening all parties together, and bolstering this work by funding the West Seneca Active Mobility Action Plan we completed in 2025. And to Richie Shack, a student at West Seneca West HS who began the advocacy efforts himself in 2024.

"According to Assemblymember Pat Burke's office, Schack's advocacy prompted Burke to bring together representatives from Erie County, the Town of West Seneca, the West Seneca Central School District, New York State and GOBike Buffalo in August 2024 to discuss potential solutions.

In West Seneca, the funding will support new sidewalks, curb ramps and crosswalks along Ridge Road and Seneca Street, near the high school and businesses students frequently visit after classes.

"You have to wait for the perfect time," one student said while waiting to cross traffic.

The intersection has been a concern for students and residents because of the traffic pedestrians must navigate to reach nearby destinations."

"Freedom" is not when the only way to access anything is pay $12,500/year (according to AAA) to maintain, insure, fuel, and park your car, and wars on the other side of the earth double your cost of getting anywhere.

"A stunning 73 percent of self-identified drivers in a recent survey by the Climate and Community Institute said they “have no choice but to drive as much as they do,” with another 53 percent reporting that they “would like to have more transportation options” beyond endlessly reaching for the keys."

“Whether you get around mostly by car or you don’t drive at all, most people in the U.S. are united by feeling unhappy with their daily transportation options,” said Emmett Hopkins, the transportation policy manager at the Institute and co-author of the study. “Broadly speaking, they want the same thing: more good transportation options that don’t [leave] a car as the only choice — or basically, the forced choice.”
