We’re excited to watch Ellyah represent the Buffalo Rodeo throughout the coming year and can’t wait to follow her adventures as she promotes our rodeo and community.

Now that the dust has settled from the 2026 Buffalo PRCA Championship Rodeo, I figured it was time to finally introduce myself.

My name is Ellyah Wickenhauser, and I am honored to serve as your 2027 Miss Buffalo Rodeo!

I am from Watertown, Minnesota, just a short drive from Buffalo, and I will be entering my junior year at South Dakota State University, where I am majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Marketing. I am also a proud member of the SDSU Rodeo Team, where I compete in barrel racing, goat tying, and breakaway roping. My love for horses began at a young age, competing in WSCA shows throughout my childhood. After taking a break from riding, I returned to the sport around the age of 14 and quickly rediscovered my passion for rodeo. I also had the opportunity to compete in the Minnesota High School Rodeo Association for two years, creating memories and friendships that I will always cherish.

When I'm not in the saddle, I enjoy spending time outdoors. You'll often find me wakeboarding, hiking, hunting, fishing, or making memories with my friends and family.

I am incredibly excited and grateful for the opportunity to represent the Buffalo Rodeo and this amazing community as your 2027 Miss Buffalo Rodeo. I can't wait to meet so many wonderful people, share my passion for rodeo, and make unforgettable memories throughout the year.

The Buffalo Rodeo amateur barrel race was very close and competitive. Congratulations to Dylynn Bailey, who won the race with a 17.67 and will receive a belt buckle and $250. Second place was Sienna Sansevere — just six one-hundredths of a second behind Dylynn with a 17.73. The difference between first and fourth place was .11 seconds. Here are the results:
