1st and foremost:

The “Dojo” (place where one learns ‘the way’ = School) is open to any person interested in martial arts and realistic self-defense training. We practice Nihon Goshinjutsu Aikido, a modern Japanese form of Budo ( Martial Ways ) derived from the martial arts: Nihon Goshin Aikido & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Phelps – Shiihan is the head instructor at the dojo. He is an energetic and loving teacher. He also trains WITH his students. He does not just stand up and teach then sit back. He loves to feel how his students are doing, so he can help them. By being an active participant, he is better able to understand their progress and has the fun of training too

Today is a big day for the Aikido School of self-defense as well as myself, the school is celebrating its 22nd year in business today February 15th in the year of Our Lord 2017. So that means for 22 years all of my students have been meeting the highest standards in martial arts training and I am proud of every single one of them. As for myself Shihan Phelps today I am being promoted to the rank of Hachi Dan 8th degree black belt I can't tell you how proud I am to achieve this rank and how hard I have worked. I have been training in the martial arts for more than 35 years. I want to thank all of my martial arts instructors throughout my life who help me to get where I am now.
