I’ve learned over the years that coaching isn’t just about drills, technique, or fixing swings — it’s about connecting! The way we communicate with athletes today has to be different. Today’s athletes want more than just instruction; they want to be understood, supported, and challenged in the right way.

I’ve worked with players who’ve stayed with me for 3, 4, even 5 years, and that means a lot! To me, that says the connection matters just as much as the coaching. We build trust, we build confidence, and we build a relationship that helps them grow on and off the field.

I truly believe that the way we speak to this generation matters. Some athletes respond best to encouragement, some thrive on challenge, and others just need space to figure things out. Coaching is no longer one-size-fits-all.
