oughout the years there have been a wide variety of spurs with many different styles, metals, designs, and uses. The spur originated with a straight shank in the 11th Century and then started being used with bent shanks in the 12th Century. The bent shank is what is commonly used now. The difference you will find with the Crack at the Shank Spur is that you can adjust the Shank, which is unlike any other spur you will find on the market. You can adjust the spur with a simple allen wrench. With the flexibility of this spur it will allow for personal customization based on the rider as well as the bull they have drawn. With the Crack at the Shank Spur the rider will be able to adjust the shank horizontally. Utilizing this technology along with the vertical movement of the spur rowel will give the rider an enormous advantage in the competition as well as help to minimize groin injuries. The shank length is in between 2 ¼” long to 2 ½” long. Varying degrees will be the determining factor in the shank length.
