Gold Coast Fishing Crew

Couldn’t have asked for a better day on the water! Sundays trip started out solo. Vincent Alexander met up with me later in the afternoon and we got on top of a never ending bite! So much fun that we didn’t want to leave! Felt so good to finally get on the water on my new kayak again and feel some drag peel!!! Limit of SheepHead, two Whitefish and one Cabazon! Threw back many Calicos too!

Challenging day on the water Sunday with the Crew. Surf was crazy at launch! Pounded by set after set and my kayak flipped and broke a pole holder compromising my kayak to taking on water. Didn’t notice until I was out on the water. As soon as I got to the island I immediately had a huge fish hit my squid jig and rip drag pulling down hard. It was a heavy fish. I’m guessing a wsb, sheep, or ling. Pat thinks it was a wsb. Some how my rod tie down leash got wrapped in my reel in the moment, the reel seized and I lost the fish. Caught a few small Rockfish after that then headed to the kelp for a last attempt at something decent. Soon as I got there I hooked up to another Giant Black Sea Bass that pulled to hard it was almost tipping my kayak over and started to tow my kayak. The fish went through another kayakers line and got tangled in the kelp as well and I lost it. 2 big fish gone. On the way back in the swells were crazy big. All of us flipped except pat and Tim. I broke my net, lost my anchor and broke a pole holder. Luckily I didn’t break any poles. Still had an amazing time on the water with the crew! But what a day lol.

Great night at the pier with the crew! Landed my personal best Bat Ray with the help of friends! We all also took home a lot of Rock Crab!

Despite the bad water conditions we all had a decent day and an amazing time together on the water! 3 of us caught our first Trigger fish back to back 3 peat! What a fight and heavy fish! Good times!

Got my first 5ml dive suit yesterday! Very pleased on the performance of the suit keeping me warm the whole time. Missed one keeper lobster but grabbed a couple rock crabs from the bottom to beat the skunk. They were dredging nearby and the water visibility was terrible but I still had fun for my first time in the new suit! Going to have a lot of fun getting into free diving now!
