We teach fencing to all levels from beginners to advanced. Many of our fencers compete nationally a Tigran founded SWORDS in 1997.
Tigran Shaginian, Swords Fencing Studio founder and head coach, is a four-time Russian national champion. Winner of the European Championship (1981) in the team competition and several other international tournaments, he earned a place on the Soviet Union's Goodwill Games Pentathlon Team in 1984, proving him to be a top athlete in fencing, shooting, horse riding, running and swimming. We have an exciting announcement for our fellow fencer Jake Lo! We want to officially congratulate his recruitment to Stanford University DIV 1 Fencing Team for Fall 2026! Jake has been with Swords for more than 7 years with Coach Tigran and our Swords' coaches through out those years. He has been on the Cadet World team as well as earning multiple medals internationally and nationally. Congratulations to his parents Stella and Jim for their support and sacrifice for Jake's fencing journey. Jake will be a fantastic addition to the Stanford team! We look forward to all that you will achieve in the next chapter of your fencing story!

What an amazing World Cadet Team International results this weekend at the Klagenfurt, Austria for our Swords fencers. Chris Davoodian is coming home with his GOLD trophy 🏆- his best results at the international competition with 272 competitors! We are so proud of his effort and talent! We also have Regina Lee who placed 5th in the individual event from 260 competitors! We also have Yoyo Wang representing USA Team 2 also bringing home GOLD 🏆 with her teammates Liora Profis , Maya Kozlowski .ifc , and Katya Seregin . Congratulations to our Coach Tigran and all our Swords' coaches who work so hard with their fencers! Thank you to the parents supporting their fencers achieve their goals and ❤️ of fencing!
