CAPTAIN SPOTLIGHT 🏈⚡️

Some players have a position. He’s the type of player you can put almost anywhere on the field and trust him to make something happen.

He’s not only one of our JV captains and quarterbacks — he’s also a VARSITY CAPTAIN, starting and making an impact at running back and cornerback.

At the JV level, he starts on BOTH sides of the ball and has become one of the most reliable players in our program. Offensively, he can play QB, running back, and Wildcat. Defensively, we can move him between safety, linebacker, corner, or wherever the team needs him.

But what stands out most is something you can’t teach: when game time comes, his instincts take over.

This week he:
🏈 Ran for 2 touchdowns
🎯 Went 5-for-8 through the air
🔥 Connected on a trick-play touchdown to our varsity quarterback
💪 Made an impact on both sides of the ball

JV quarterback. Varsity running back. Cornerback. Safety. Linebacker. Captain at BOTH levels.

He’s confident, physical, competitive, and gives everything he has on every snap. More importantly, he’s so good at what he does that he pushes the players around him to elevate their game.

That’s what being a captain is about.

That’s what being a Breakthrough athlete is about. 💯

🎙️ PLAYER SPOTLIGHT: QB DEMURS WRIGHT 🏈

Leadership starts before the first snap.

Before the game, Demurs Wright was already setting the tone — being vocal during warmups, communicating with his teammates, and bringing energy before kickoff.

Then he backed it up on the field. 🔥

📊 6/10 Passing
🎯 3 Passing TDs
⚡ 20 Yards on Trick Plays
🏃‍♂️ 1 Receiving TD off a pitch-and-route

One of the biggest highlights came when Demurs pitched the ball to his running back, released downfield and became a receiver himself — turning the trick-play package into 20 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback. Playmaker. Leader.

🎤 Hear from Demurs Wright after the game.
