🔷 Silly but effective reasons to lose weight, let’s share!
Do you guys have any ‘’dumb’’ or petty reasons why you want to lose weight? I mean, reasons that might sound silly to an outsider or not so admirable as only wanting to improve your general health.
I’ve struggled with my weight since I was a child, and I’ve gone from being an obese child/teenager to a slightly overweight/healthy weight teenager/young adult over the years (fluctuating due to certain personal experiences like depression, COVID, etc.).
I’ve been doing consistent exercise since I was fifteen (which is when my fitness started improving) but now I’m on my early twenties and have some pounds to get rid of once again.
I’ve realised that some of the reasons why I now want to lose weight might sound dumb to an outsider, and I wanted to share them but also get to know your own. My pettiest/less serious-sounding reasons are these:
I want to be able to wear a crop top for the first time in my life, instead of just feeling envious of how good my sister (who’s quite fit without being skinny) looks with one.
I want to be able to buy a bikini and wear it at the beach. I’ve not gone swimming in a decade because I’m too self-conscious about my body.
I love travelling by plane but sitting down and fastening my seat belt is hella uncomfortable because it makes me extremely aware of the fat I’ve got on my belly. I’ve got a trip booked soon and I don’t want to experience that again.
I’ve recently gotten into KPOP (yeah, laugh if you want, but I like it) and I’ve fallen in love with the incredible choreographies the singers perform. I want to try learning some of the easier choreos but with my current body it would be very uncomfortable to try if not more difficult than it should.
I want to be able to allow my mother to take more pictures of me when we go on vacation or celebrate something, instead of hiding from the camera like I’ve been doing these past few years.
