Allocate acreage for an agricultural events facility in Pender County

Please support our local 4H group, The Mane Event, as they promote the need for an agricultural event facility in Pender County. Also please take the time to fill out the survey!

Our local 4-H horse group is exploring the possibility of proposing a new 20-acre multi-use recreation and community events area in the Long Creek area of Pender County. We are gathering community input to better understand what residents would like to see included in a potential development. Ideas....

Upcoming Dates to Remember!

The 4-H Yardsale will be September 5th
If anyone has donations for that, we are happy to pick them up!

Monthly Meeting September 14th At The Extension office in Burgaw 5-6:30PM

First Horse Bowl Practice from 5:30-7:30 PM September 21st

Mothly Meeting October 12th at the Extension Office in Burgaw 5-6:30 pm

We will have a booth at Autumn Fest in Burgaw October 17th

We will also be having a Tack Sale On the 17th At the Extension Office in Burgaw!
If anyone has donations for this, we will be happy to pick those up as well. We will take anything horse or pet related.
We will also be offering vendor spaces for this sale. A 10x10 space will be $20 if you sign up and pay by October 1st. After this it will be $25 for the vendor space.

August update!!!
Saturday we have the market fundraiser at Humphrey farms 10-2 if any9ne would like to come out and support the kids or just visit and chat!

We have a monthly meeting on monday August 10th from 5-6:30 at the extention office.

We will also be talking about project record books and getting started on those and horse bowl practice will be starting back in September!

We need one or two more days to clean and label tack. Keep collecting donations for the tack sale!

Keep collecting stuff for the yardsale as well for September 5th.

July meeting updates! We had two girls compete and place at the state 4-H show in the mini division, we had one win awards in artistic expression and we also had two girls awarded patches in the recreational riding program!

Plans for the month of july include education on equine chiropractic
Learning how to do fecals on july 27th
We will be getting together this Saturday to work on making crafts to sell at the pender arts counsel market in burgaw August 1st and the Humphrey farms back to school market August 8th
We are also having a yardsale in August and a tack sale in October, we are still collecting stuff for both of those. If anyone would like to donate, let me know and we can arrange pickup or drop off.
