They said Labor Day, so apparently I took that literally. 😂

I’ve seen this post circulating and it really hit home. I don’t think most people truly realize what goes on behind the scenes of running a horse business. The actual horse care is often the easy part.

It’s managing a million moving pieces, different personalities, expectations and needs. It’s answering messages at all hours, handling emergencies, dealing with rising costs, repairs, weather, vets, farriers, employees, and constantly solving problems that most people never even know existed.

Most people see the finished product. They don’t see everything it takes behind the scenes to make it happen.

I’m glad more posts like this are being shared because I think there’s a mental health side to running a horse business that doesn’t get talked about enough. The pressure, responsibility and burnout can be a lot, even when you genuinely love what you do. Sometimes just knowing other people in the industry are feeling the same things makes a difference
