I am sad to learn the Pirates lost a Gentle Giant.
He protected his QB and stood his ground. He supported not only his teammates but his classmates and school in everything he did. It became routine to find him at every game his senior year, the joke became "It wasn't a wrap until I caught a shot of Angel"
Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate.

True Story....
GFHS Bison date some thirty years later.
One of my Great Falls High classmates found another classmates sophomore football jersey at her Billings middle school's equipment shed where she now works. The middle school had gotten a new shed and gear was being transferred to the new shed. Buried under some feild equipment on the floor boards, the dirty but barely worn jersey caught the eye of another Bison, who actually knew the name on the back of the jersey since grade school. The schools are over 200 miles apart and the mystery of how the GFHS jersey ended up there only to be found by another Bison is still being investigated by the class of '89.

One thing football has taught me:
Goals are not always crystal clear.
But they all count the same.
Never give up.
