A fun filled weekend of racing ! Friday night under the lights had fireworks on and off the track. Saturday's Christmas in July race had wacky trophies from the 80's and 90's. Some of my favorite moments were the riders who earned their first-first place-Ashleigh Hardee and Hunter McAdams. Another impressive moment occurred when Jayce, an 8 yr. old rider, had a 1st place taken away with a 30 ft. DQ on Friday night, but then rebounded to take 1st place on Saturday. Great job overcoming a heartbreak DQ!

Traveled to Tanglewood BMX this weekend for the final State Qualifier to work with a few riders Iβve been working with this year-Cameron-7-year-old Novice new to BMX this season, and 6-year-old Tanner-only a couple months into the sport, and Jase Talley, 7-year-old Intermediate rider who struggled a bit at the last State Qualifier at Capital City BMX NC. Super impressed with their results!
Cameron has only raced at Burlington BMX and has a couple goods wins. I felt he had a chance to make the main and maybe podium, but with this being his first race away from his home track who knows what the outcome will be. He took first in his first moto!! Transfer to a full rack Main and finishes with 3rd place!
Tanner has recently caught the BMX bug and loved racing in the State series last weekend at Capital City BMX where he made the main. He did great at Tanglewood against a full rack of riders making it to the main event! Well done! Only racing for a couple months and he makes both State Qualifier Mains?!?!
Jase "The Ace" Talley, a kid I have been announcing for since he was a strider, is a great rider, but has been getting beat in a couple of places on the track. We spent time this week with a private lesson preparing for the last State Qualifier. Wow! He killed it! Never losing a lap all day! Taking home Snakes-Eyes with a first in Cruiser and Class.
Really Impressed with these three! Hard work, great focus, and tons of fun!
