2020/11/20: A reminder that we are generally not meeting in public due to COVID-19. We do meet online and are considering meeting outdoors with masks and gloves under good conditions. 2026/05/24: entered the 2026 Amateur Chess Organization (ACO) World Super Seniors (65+) Chess Championship. It was held in Greece on the island of Kos at the Atlantica Belvedere Resort. Being an amateur event, there were 7 divisions based on ratings (sort of like weight classes in wrestling). It was 8 days and 9 rounds. I won my division. My wife Lisa Horner Roberson took the pic. You can see the Aegean sea and another Greek island in the background.
05/11/2026: The Burlington Chess Club will not meet for the next two weeks. I will be in Greece for a 9 round chess tournament. We will resume on Sunday May 31.

Hi Club, I am running the state seniors chess championship at the Country Inn and Suites in Burlington today. So, the club will meet from 1 to 5 in the breakfast room at the Inn. The address is 3211 Wilson Drive, Burlington. You may get to play some of the seniors between round 3 and 4 which is between 1:30 and 2:30 (some of them are Masters and near Masters).
