Ive always prided myself with opening a gym "Superfitness " 20 years ago with almost no money, no investor, no backer, no partner, no bank loan, just a will to succeed and friends and family who helped me along the way with labor, or kind words of encouragement!
Superfitness was never opened to make money, it was opened cause i was tired of going to the big box gym and getting judged for being to big, to small, to fat, or not lean enough for contest! You see, back then, a gym was supposed to be encouraging, but for me, a lot of times, it was the opposite! So i started going to smaller family owned gyms to get away from the crowd! I had my best lifting days without anyone watching me at all! Just me and a handful of people and the gym. It was my therapy!
Then i decided i wanted to help people and open my own facility! That being said, 20 years later, my gym is still here and better than ever! I always encourage everyone to go to any facility for positive vibes from others and others willing to give help as we were all once starters or newbies somewhere!!!
This is not an advertising ploy or anything for my gym, i just always preach health is wealth, and i want everyone to seek a likeminded place for encouragement! Never go for the cheapest place as cheap is not good and good is not cheap! Go where you feel comfortable and supported by others! If walking the neighborhood gets your cardio in, do that, just start somewhere.......doing something is always better than not!!!
With the negativity in the world today, we all need to hear uplifting positive people sometimes, and i always hope to brighten someone's day or encourage someone to take the first step in the right direction! Remember, walking around the block is free of charge!!!
Always remember you can do anything you put your mind to! This world has endless opportunities!!!
