When Black Duck Outdoors was started, it was a way to immortalize the legacy of the Black Duck. A husband, father and grandfather that gave so much to his family.

We were building custom birdhouses, ornaments, and gifts by hand, and most days in the shop, the work would pause because somebody stopped in and stayed awhile.

Before long the tools were quiet and the stories started.

Stories about family, tales from the woods, waters, and wild places, about mornings people still carry with them years later.

Somewhere along the way we realized the stories meant more than the projects that left the shop.

Black Duck Outdoors is staying true to its roots, but now in a new way.

Now it’s a place to share the stories instead of just hearing them once and losing them.
