Congratulations Erika!! In her words:
Well, you've coached me through.... I don't know how many half's and 3 full marathons that I have successfully gotten BQs and a personal best. I love the accountability your coaching gives me and more importantly the fact that you make the program specifically for me. When the going gets tough you restructure the program so I stay healthy and continue to push forward through training. Ya haven't failed me yet, or I you!

delivered an outstanding performance today at the Boston Marathon! She surpassed her goal time and earned another BQ.
I started working with Laura 8 weeks before Boston. The first 2 weeks we had to take it slow to let her previous injury heal. We then set our sights on a 4.5 week build and a 15 day taper.
It was a short training cycle so we had to make every workout count. With perfect ex*****on, she nailed it with a time of 3:28 (just 70 sec. Short of a new PB). Can't wait to see what we can do with a full training cycle!

What a year for Maxwell Curtis! On the podium today in his first year of racing this distance.
Training deets;
Swim volume was a challenge thanks to Covid. We had to focus on quality not quantity making sure each swim session counted.✅
Bike: Maxwell's strength is in his run with a PB of 2:42 for the marathon. His training focused heavily on bike strength/stamina. The goal was to develop his cycling to the point where he could bike fast, but still have energy in the tank to exploit his strength-a fast run. ✅
✨Great ex*****on and Maxwell earned his spot on the podium with a 5th place AG finish.
Can't wait to see where another year of training will take him!

Well done Maxwell Curtis! I've been working with Maxwell for several years now. In 2019, he overcame a significant set back/injury and ran his way to a marathon personal best of 2:47.
This past weekend Max competed in his first half ironman. He surpassed his splits with a 34 min swim, averaged 23.5 mph on the bike and ran 6:20 pace for the half marathon.
His nutrition, pacing, and mental readiness was spot on. Congrats Maxwell!

First Ironman for KLE athlete Keri Crafts. What a race! Congrats!

Bringing KLE athlete Keri Crafts through her last big swim in preparation for her first Ironman.
As part of her workout, we practiced sighting and buoy turns.
Mastering such skills will give you a big competitive advantage on race day-and the greater the distance, the more important sighting is!

Great day of racing! KLE coach Brent Towne threw down the fastest bike split by just over 2 minutes averaging 26.0mph over the course and earned his name on the trophy for fastest bike split 3 years in a row!
Relay teammate Maxwell Curtis finished big after 3 weeks of back to back races with a 5:27 paced 5K.
The team recorded the fastest bike- run combo of the day!
There's still more work to be done, however the training and progress is all on course!
