It’s never too late to learn.

At the Alamance County Community YMCA, our Adult Learn to Swim program helps adults build confidence, learn life-saving skills, and feel comfortable in the water—no matter where they are starting.

Ms. Joyce, one of our dedicated YMCA instructors, brings patience, encouragement, and years of experience to every lesson. She meets swimmers where they are and helps them take the next step forward, one skill at a time.

Learning to swim isn’t just about technique—it’s about confidence, safety, and discovering what you’re capable of.

Interested in learning? Find a class on our website or visit our front desk.

The Y is a place for everyone to grow.

Meet YCON — AJ Campbell. Today we celebrate his 30 years of service to the YMCA.

Here at the Alamance County Community YMCA, we are grateful for the support our staff members provide. While roles may have changed over the years, today AJ provides support and expertise through his work helping improve the design, accessibility, and flow of our website, making it easier for our community to connect with the programs and opportunities the Y provides.

Behind every strong Y are people who believe deeply in the mission and work quietly to help others succeed — AJ is one of those individuals.

AJ — Thank you for three decades of dedication, creativity, and service to the YMCA. 💙

🍀There was mischief at the Y today — someone with small feet visited our afterschool program. Regretfully, we found only snacks, no gold.

Today we celebrate Amy Harrison and 11 years of service to our YMCA family! 💙

For Amy, the Y has always been more than a workplace — it’s a place where relationships are built, members feel welcomed, and community grows stronger every day. Through the friendships she’s formed with coworkers and members and the care she shows to everyone who walks through our doors, Amy helps make the Y a place people truly feel they belong.

Thank you, Amy, for the countless connections you’ve created and the impact you continue to make in our community. We are grateful for you!
