🎉 Happy Birthday Ms. Kelly! 🎂

Kelly Carter began dancing at BADA in 1988 and has been teaching here since 2003! 💃 She was a proud member of the North Carolina Youth Tap Ensemble, performing around the world in places like Helsinki 🇫🇮, Rio de Janeiro 🇧🇷, Vienna 🇦🇹, and New York City 🗽!

Over the years, Kelly has studied and performed with incredible tap legends including Gene Medler, Savion Glover, Brenda Buffalino, Barbara Duffy, Michelle Dorrance, Mike Minery, and Sam Weber. 👏

While earning her degree at UNC Chapel Hill, Kelly served as Tap Director for the Carolina Style dance company. Today, she holds a doctorate in physical therapy and works in both outpatient and home health — all while sharing her passion for tap with BADA dancers! 👣

Ms. Kelly lives in Burlington with her husband Mitch, daughter Avery (also a BADA dancer 🩰), and son Aiden. She teaches Tap, directs our Tap Program, and serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors for KARIZMA. 💙

We’re celebrating Taylor Roberson, our amazing Jazz, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre teacher! 💃✨

Ms. Taylor is currently the Dance Teacher at Ragsdale High School and holds a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography with a K–12 Teaching License from UNCG. While there, she was the Associate Choreographer for Pippin: The Musical and studied under BADA faculty members Angie Greene and Virginia Dupont. 🌟

Shawn’s influence shaped the dance world forever — from his groundbreaking exploration of nonballetic movement to the creation of the legendary Denishawn Company, which he co-founded with his wife, Ruth St. Denis. 🌟

Here’s to one of the greats who helped modern dance take its first bold steps forward! 🙌❤️
