What a great morning to be at Back Home BBQ & Brew Co. for Poses & Pints! Thanks to everyone who came out, moved their bodies with me and hung out after to chit chat, chow down and enjoy a cold one! Oooooooh this is comin’ in hot and quick! But the flow will be chill and the b**r nice and cold! If the weather agrees we’ll practice in the yard next door so bring a blanket, mat, or towel. If it’s rainy we’ll move inside the taproom. This is always a fun time and as usual, I’m looking forward to seeing you and your friends there! hello friends! how is summer treating you so far? other than the heat, it hasn't felt very summer-y to me yet. i typically associate this time of year with outdoor adventures, more time with friends, and a sense of relaxing and enjoying myself a bit more. but... there's a lot of work that needs done...

If I’m being honest, over the last few years I haven’t been practicing Yoga very often. I didn’t forget about it though, and my body definitely remembers. Muscle memory is wild like that. Your muscles hold onto the work you’ve already put in, even when life pulls you in different directions away from the mat- surgeries, cancer treatment, the gym, Pilates, grandma-hood, all that stuff. But what impresses me even more is the muscle memory of the mind. It remembers how when I practice a challenging pose or run into a challenge in life, the breath needs to deepen, my focus needs to sharpen. It remembers the times I told myself I couldn’t, but more importantly it remembers the feeling of trying anyway. That mental muscle? It’s built rep by rep, class by class. It’s the one that says “You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to be consistent forever. You just have to come back — and trust that every time you do, you’re building on something that never fully left. You can pick up where you left off. Your practice is always here for you” Maybe it’s the poses, maybe it’s the one pointed focus that calms the mind.
Make it a habit. Not because you have to, because you intend to. And because future you will be grateful you did. 🤍 Join me for Flow Mondays at 8:30am and Wednesday at 5:30pm, Slow and Steady Yoga Thursday at 9:30am, or Vin/Yin Fridays at 9:30am
