Long story short:

No, I'm not wearing a bullet proof vest walking around town. 😅

So what is this thing I'm wearing and why?

Gotta hit play for that.

What have you done to improve your physical health today?

Giving a huge shout out and wishing best of luck to our very own Judy who's participating in the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lambeau today!

From the event website,

"9/11 Memorial Stair Climb events are a tribute to the 343 firefighters who gave their lives during the tragic events at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

Members of the community are invited to climb the equivalent of 110 stories - the height of the fallen World Trade Center towers - on the steps of Lambeau Field. Each climber is given a badge with the name and photograph of one of the fallen firefighters to symbolically complete the climb with one of the fallen.

At the equivalent of the 78th floor of the World Trade Center towers, which is the highest floor firefighters reached on 9/11, each climber rings the fire bell in honor of the fallen firefighter on their badge. The stair climb is not a timed race and participants can climb to any desired level. An adult or guardian must accompany minors who participate."

Funds raised are donated to the National Fallen Firefighters Association.

Judy is not only an incredible gym member, but an outstanding person and truly the best of what the fitness world has to offer.

We can't wait to hear about the experience on Monday! 💪

Consistent question:

"Can I work out with an injured or repaired knee/hip/shoulder ect".

Answer:

Yes.

💪We have multiple people with artificial knees.
💪A member who recently had a hip replacement.
💪Previous shoulder surgeries.
💪One came in yesterday with a recently sprained wrist.

Our approach in these circumstances is to understand what you CAN do and build out from there.

Nearly every movement is adaptable and in circumstances they're not, we simply shift to something different that day or in some cases, those weeks.

If you can make it though the door, we can find ways to help you train and become stronger.

Honest truth;

I don't want Country Strength to be about me.

I want it to be about our members and the amazing things they're doing with some public education mixed in.

But my wife, who's the definition of my better half, tells me in order to do that better I have to build trust and that can only be done but telling people about myself.

So, here's some more.

I'm from and grew up in Maine in a small-ish coastal community, who until it was shuttered and eventually torn down, was best known for it's paper mill and associations with a granite revolutionary was fort called Fort Knox (not the one in Kentucky with the gold) and the counties tallest bridge elevator (Penobscot Narrows).

I was a decent two sport high school athlete 100 years ago, played a couple years of D3 college football (play is a strong word here as I only saw the field for special teams honeslty) while obtaining a bachelor's degree in sports management.

Much of my work career before becoming a caregiver for Shawna was blue-collar (landscaping, papermill), with some short stints in retail management.

Finding health and fitness as a passion was a complete accident that came from coaching my son's Jr high football team but now that I have, I want to do nothing else.

My biggest goal with Country Strength is to help people become the strongest, most capable versions of themselves and to use what they obtain to live the best lives possible.

I'm not sure where else to go with this but if you have questions, feel free to ask.

Do something to make yourself and your life better today. 💪

New programs(workouts) are due by Monday so today I'll be reviewing what we've been doing, what I've been seeing from the members, feedback, requests (yes, sometimes I take requests because member buy-in is valuable), and create a new 4 week block.

This is part of where the "personall" get's put into personal training.

Not only am I considering the main movements, but the movements we'll use for those who may need something similar but different to navigate any issues.

We want everyone who desires to be able to train regardless of familiarity or limitation.

Programming day plays a key role in that process. 👊
