Bear Claw Epic Presented by Einstein Cycles

It is with a heavy heart that I have to officially announce that there will not be a 2024 Bear Claw Epic.

There was just to much to get done and not enough time to get it done. Now that school and coaching are back in full swing I’ve had to admit I’m not going to be able to put in a quality event this fall.

Plans for 2025 are in the works and we hope to have registration up by Thanksgiving!

Things are still in motion for the 2024 race. Oct. 12th. 2024. Race registration isn’t up yet, but Manton’s Cross Country team has already been out doing some trail maintenance.

Chopping back ferns and small trees that are growing into the trail. Still a few places that need some attention.

We’re excited to announce that there WILL BE A BEAR CLAW EPIC 2024!!!

Although we’ll once again have a new set of race manager(s) we’re not new to the game. Jeff Harding and Don Passanger are the co-race directors for The Divide, a gravel road race held nearby in Manton MI.

Big thanks to Michelle and Dustin as well as Raymond and Joe for the help you’ve already given and all the advice yet to come.

A spring date is out of the question for us. We’re still kicking around possible race dates and need your help.

4th of July weekend…. Busy time of year?

3rd weekend in September. Would return the race to its original weekend and pairing with Cadillac’s Craft Beer Festival. However, it looks like it would conflict with the Traverse City Trail Festival.

2nd weekend October. No one has given me a reason why this date wouldn’t work. It’s in between TCTF & Peak2Peak. Could this be our new date?
