GRiT Camp 2026 is in the books, and these girls can’t wait to reconnect with their friends on and off the trail this season. Fun was had, memories made, and stoke ignited.

What a great turnout last night for our first Try It Out of the season! Try It Out events offer prospective team members the opportunity to experience what we do at a typical practice: skill-building drills, on-the-bike games, trail riding, and learning to push yourself in an encouraging “challenge by choice” environment.

Do you like the idea of meeting new friends, having fun outdoors, and riding your bike in the forest? Athens County youth in grades 6-12 are eligible to join the Cougarbats. We welcome beginners!

We will host one more Try It Out event this season: June 24 from 5:30-7:30 pm at Chauncey Village Park. Keep an eye on our social media for details, or email [email protected] for information. Please note that parents must complete and return signed waivers before an athlete can participate in a Try It Out event, so be sure to communicate with the team in advance. Practices begin the first week of July and run through October.

👆Hey, coaches & student-athletes, that’s your deadline to get registered in Pit Zone if you want a personalized race plate this season.

Of course, you can still register after that date but your race plate won’t be printed with your name in perfect block letters. It’ll be printed in Sharpie by your dad—and may or may not look like 20 miles of West Virginia gravel. 😬
