Today's student story is a beautiful example of the impact the horse-human connection can have!
We're incredibly grateful to the Susan L. Canole Foundation for partnering with us to continue making opportunities like this possible. Because of their generosity, “T” received scholarship support that allows her to continue riding and experiencing the connection and comfort she has found within horses.
Her mom shared her story with us and the impact she has seen horses have already for T:
“We moved here from Israel after several very difficult years during the war, and since our move to the U.S. last year, T has been navigating both the emotional impact of those years and the challenges of such a major transition. We have seen how much being around horses and riding seems to benefit her emotionally.
T has dreamed about horses for years. We recently sorted through her artwork and realized that most of her drawings were of horses. She has always felt a special connection with animals and loves learning everything she can about them.
As a sensitive child, T experienced several difficult years in Israel, when waking at night to go to the shelter became a regular part of life. A year ago, our family moved to the United States, and she also had to adjust to a new country and language. During this transition, animals became a source of comfort for her—a place where she could feel understood without needing the right words.
From her first days at horse camp, we saw a change in her. She came home joyful, excited, and visibly calmer. Riding gives her confidence, purpose, and a sense of strength. In the strength of the horse, T seems to discover her own.
We are deeply grateful that this scholarship will allow her to continue something that brings her so much comfort and happiness.”
That is the impact of the horse-human connection💖
