Congrats Logan!!!
Marriage advice - settle who is shooting BEFORE the deer walks out.
Opening day was over 100 degrees. Sunday felt like November, and right after 6:30, Logan Beach heard a sneeze down the ridge. He looked up and here came a buck that was not even on the radar. This deer had been so inconsistent all year that Logan was not expecting him.
When the buck started moving up the hill, Logan's first thought was not "what a giant." It was "we never discussed who is shooting this one."
His wife Kaylin was in the closer stand with her recurve. The buck parked himself right between the two of them at 10 yards and hung out for a few minutes. No shot for anybody.
Eventually he worked over to the corn pile. A couple minutes went by. Nothing from Kaylin.
Logan said he had to make a business decision got made at 30 yards. 🤣
They did not realize how big he was until they walked up on him.
And the first words out of Kaylin's mouth after the celebration:
"One step. You couldn't give me one more step."
Logan said he has got a lot of repaying to do.
I would guess that is accurate. Kaylin has got him in the hot seat all year, and probably next year too.
Worth it though. What a deer.
Congratulations to both Logan and Kaylin, even if only one of you is happy about it right now.
