Luis Enrique then sent Torres back to the bench for today’s match against Monaco. He came on in the 63rd minute to replace Doué just after Monaco equalized. Torres worked hard to make an impact and even found the net late in the game, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Despite playing 28 minutes, Torres managed only 7 touches and registered 0 shots.That means across his last two matches, Torres has played 100 minutes with just 3 shots, 0 shots on target and only 21 touches.

And since Ferran Torres arrived, PSG are still waiting for their first Ligue 1 win.

Ferran may have arrived in Paris with expectations of being compared with the world’s best forwards. But with 21 touches in his last 100 minutes, perhaps Haaland comparisons can wait.

Mohammad Rubel was one of the standout bowlers in the latest Top End T20 tournament, taking 23 wickets in just seven matches. Yet, the right arm spinner was not included in Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming Asian Games.

Now, chief selector Habibul Bashar Sumon has explained why. According to Bashar, selectors had to submit a 30 player squad for the Asian Games around three months before the tournament, when Rubel was not yet in serious consideration.

Asian Games regulations do not allow changes outside the permitted rules after that deadline. Rubel’s current form came later, with strong performances in the Top End T20 tournament. Bashar also indicated that Rubel could be part of Bangladesh’s future plans after his recent performances.

CWAB President Mohammad Mithun says he considers himself successful in his role and believes much of the criticism against him comes from people who do not know him or understand his work.

Mithun feels people are judging him without knowing the full picture, while those criticising him know very little about him.

BCB President Tamim Iqbal has pointed out that CWAB is not getting much room to complain about this year’s BPL cancellation, with the board working on alternative ways to financially support a wider group of cricketers.

In May 2026, the first class match fee was increased from Tk 75,000 to Tk 100,000. Just four months later, BCB has raised it again by another Tk 50,000, taking the fee to Tk 150,000. So while players are losing a year of BPL earnings, BCB has increased first class match fees by Tk 75,000 within four months.

CWAB, led by President Mohammad Mithun, is “extremely happy” with Tamim Iqbal’s BCB decision to cancel this year’s BPL.

The stance comes despite BPL cancellation meaning a year without one of Bangladesh’s biggest domestic cricket income opportunities for players. CWAB says it is satisfied with Tamim’s long term plan for Bangladesh cricket and the wider financial benefit it could bring to cricketers.

This marks a striking contrast with the Aminul Islam Bulbul era, when CWAB boycotted the BPL, causing financial losses for BCB. Now, with players set to lose a year of BPL earnings, the players’ body is backing BCB’s decision and expressing its satisfaction with Tamim’s leadership.

From BPL boycott to being “extremely happy” with its cancellation, CWAB’s position has certainly changed.

There will be no BPL this year and no alternative tournament to provide cricketers with a financial opportunity, CWAB President Mohammad Mithun has confirmed.

Despite sacrificing a year of potential BPL earnings, cricketers are choosing to trust Tamim Iqbal’s long term plan. Mithun said BCB is working on a model that could benefit 180 to 200 cricketers in the long run, instead of providing opportunities to only 50 to 60 players through BPL.

There was a time when cricketers openly spoke about how difficult it would be to run their families without BPL. Yet, despite sacrificing a year of potential BPL earnings, players are now choosing to put their faith in Tamim Iqbal’s plan for a broader long term model.

Chasing India’s 105, Bangladesh were blown away by Stuart Binny, who produced extraordinary figures of 6/4 as the hosts were bowled out for just 58 in 17.4 overs.

Mithun top scored for Bangladesh with 27 runs, contributing almost half of his team’s total. Yet, despite being Bangladesh’s highest scorer in that collapse, he was dropped from the team afterwards.

The moment remains part of Mithun’s argument that he has been one of the most underrated players in Bangladesh cricket.

Tawhid Hridoy has entered Bangladesh cricket history with an unbeaten 350 against South Africa A in Potchefstroom.

The Bangladesh A captain faced 481 balls, smashing 27 fours and 10 sixes to become the first Bangladeshi batter to score 350 runs in first class cricket.

His 350* also broke Tamim Iqbal’s previous Bangladesh record of 334*, giving Hridoy the highest individual first class score by a Bangladeshi batter.

Hridoy became only the third Bangladeshi after Tamim Iqbal and Rakibul Hasan to score a first class triple century, while his 350* is the first triple century by a Bangladeshi on foreign soil. It is also now the highest first class score by any visiting batter in South Africa. Bangladesh A declared on 676/8 before the four day match ended in a draw.
