Is Hangboarding Safe for Kids?
Short answer: Yes.
Medium answer: it’s just strength training but using a joint they already use ALOT in their sport. Loading them in smart ways in small doses is fine.
Don’t hang an elephant off of them and you’ll be fine.
Comment “pump” and I’ll send you the link to the whole warmup and explanation video! 💪🧗♂️
Don’t focus on the hole, focus on the Donut 🍩
Injury is a difficult thing to deal with as an athlete, especially mentally. That’s why as a coach you need to be in their corner for comfort and console but also prepared to keep them training and keep them involved with the team!

Do Youth Climbing Athletes Injure Different Things?
Yes.
Their weak links are not the same as their adult selves. And how you catch these injuries and treat them quickly is incredibly important to get them climbing again and for their long term health.

“People will go where they feel safe”
Is a fantastic (paraphrased?) quote from Chris Wall ( ) I heard at the CWA last weekend. And that sums up the main benefit when you educate your community relentlessly and seek out the best people to be in your network of coaches, medical providers, dietitians, etc.
Because if you are doing all those things, your athletes know they are safe in the hands of those that will do anything they can to help them now in the sport they love and in the future through health and wellness.
