One of my favorite drills. Even as a nine year old you can learn how to shorten your swing and go right after the ball. A lot of kids like to cast their hands that lengthens their swing. Shorten your swing and get after the ball!!

Being a catcher is hard. Being an elite catcher is even harder! Elias continues to put work in on a weekly basis and has shown significant improvement on his ability to frame and block the ball. We all have to remember sometimes we aren’t going to raise our ceiling. But if we can raise our floor and develop a standard of consistency for ourselves. That can be just as productive!

Had a great session today! Malachi struggles with a lot of lefties struggle with..pulling off the pitch too early. With a little tee work and some adjustments we were able to make some amends. The biggest key for those who struggle with this is fixing the coil. If your hip is the first part of your swing to launch..you might catch yourself pulling off. If as a lefty you coil your front leg on your load and your knee is the first to launch..you’ll start driving the ball up the middle and staying on the pitches on the outer half. Tee work can be brutal but you never know what you will find and what you can fix!
